Crossrail - C610 Systemwide Track and Fit Out

Southdowns is the lead noise and vibration specialist for the design and build contractor (Alstom TSO Costain JV,) with responsibilities that include the final detailed design sign-off of the proposed Standard Track Systems for the tunnelled sections of the alignment under central London. The track has been designed to achieve prescriptive groundborne noise and vibration requirements in overlying buildings and includes several generic trackform types including: resilient baseplates; bi-block and monobloc booted sleeper systems; and two variants of floating track slab in sensitive locations. Baseline noise study of DXB noise emissions

Dubai International Airport

Southdowns was commissioned to install an unattended noise monitoring system in and around Dubai International Airport ( DXB ) and to undertake a baseline noise study of DXB noise emissions over a 6 month period. The baseline noise study forms part of an Environmental Social Impact Assessment ( ESIA ) and the determination of environmental conditions around DXB during the initial phase of DXB’s Strategic Plan 2020.
