Sam Geering Acoustic Consultant

Sam joined Southdowns in 2016 as an Environmental Technician. Now an Assistant Consultant based in the Lewes office, his primary role is to assist senior and principal consultants with data processing and reporting for attended and unattended noise, vibration and dust reports and assessments. Sam has completed the IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement, undertaken attended noise surveys and assessments and performed onsite maintenance of equipment on construction, demolition and Crossrail projects. He has also produced noise models using industry standard software such as CadnaA, NoiseMap and SoundPlan.
Previous to working at Southdowns, Sam was a Broadcast Systems Engineer for Dolby where he gained experience diagnosing issues and suggesting fixes in customers broadcast chains. Sam is a graduate from the University of York with an MEng in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems. His final year project centred around researching the use of real-time convolution on first order ambisonic impulse responses using an Audio-Over-IP network.
Sam is currently undertaking postgraduate masters in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics at London South Bank University.
