Having left Ashdown Environmental in 1995 where he was the founding Managing Director, Bob Hood is now an Associate with Southdowns. Before 1988, he was Head of Acoustics at Travers Morgan and has worked on major transportation and infrastructure projects in the UK and abroad. He was one of the four original members of the committee set up to develop a methodology for the calculation of road traffic noise and was responsible for public and local authority consultation and the development of noise and vibration calculation procedures on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. He has undertaken work on various projects for the Department of Transport and has worked on a wide range of other noise and vibration consultancy projects in both the public and private sectors.
