Rick Methold is a director of Southdowns and prior to re-joining the company full time in 2002 was the Noise and Vibration Manager at Rail Link Engineering where he was responsible for managing the in-house team of noise and vibration specialists. In this role his specific responsibilities included advising on all noise and vibration aspects associated with the detailed design and construction of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and liaising with the client, contractors and local authorities.

He has broad expertise and experience in advising on noise and vibration related topics for large infrastructure, development and transportation projects.

Rick has both national and international expert witness experience, including appearances before a House of Commons Select Committee. He also sits on BSi Committee B/564/01 on BS 5228: Noise and Vibration Control on Construction and Open Sites.
