Matthew Tomes is an Acoustic Consultant with Southdowns, having joined the company in 2004 as a graduate consultant with an upper second class honours degree in Audio Technology from the Southampton Institute. He subsequently studied applied acoustics part-time at North East Surrey College of Technology (NESCOT) and was awarded an MSc in 2009 on completion of his thesis on outdoor noise propagation.

Since joining Southdowns, Matthew has worked on a wide range of projects including various environmental noise and vibration impact assessments for outdoor sports and recreation facilities, highway schemes, railway projects, industrial and residential developments.
